Racial Justice Forum is a series of facilitated small group discussions with the purpose of providing opportunities for self-reflection, training on how each of us can improve our anti-racism, as well as practice and preparation to have these conversations in life and practice.⁠

Theme: "Faith, Spirituality and Social Work Ethics"

Social work’s systems perspective and bio-psycho-social-spiritual approach to exploring the needs of each unique individual means the question of religion, faith, and/or spirituality may arise during our encounters with clients. But are we comfortable with what a client may need to bring to their work with us if that includes their religious beliefs or spiritual practices?

Join us as a panel of Muslim social workers discuss the intersection of Islam and social work, mental health and social service concerns of the Muslim community, and how racism and Islamophobia impacts their work and delivery of services.

Over a year after racial justice and anti-racism was a front-page issue in our society and profession, we want to check in and see if there has been transformative change in our schools, practice, and association.
