Social workers can help families with chronically ill or disabled children build resilience. An important part of accomplishing this is building cohesion between the sick child and well siblings. This may include helping the parents and the children develop age-appropriate coping strategies, tolerance, and communication skills. Children, Adolescents and Young Adults Section Connection
